Extended Day is a before school tutoring program that was started in the 2000-2001 school year. Selected fourth graders (parent and/or teacher request) attend a six-week session to help prepare students for the fourth grade WASL. During each six-week session, two of our Roosevelt teachers work with a group of up to fifteen fourth graders. So far, more than 175 Roosevelt students have been served in this before school program. We believe that student involvement in this program has been one of the contributing factors in our increased student achievement on the state WASL.
