Rowan of Rin by Emily Rodda

A witch named Sheaba has put the lives of the village people in a very little boy's
hands. He has the key to an unknown mountain. The witch has put a curse on the
key; whatever that may be in the unknown. Many people have tales of the
mountain and the beast at the top. If you are looking for adventure, you will like
this book!

Sparrow Hawk Red by Ben Michelson

Ricky Diaz discovers that his mother, whose death he thought was an accident,
was murdered by drug dealers. Will he live or not? Look for this adventure at the
Roosevelt library.

The Million Dollar Kick by Dan Gutman

This book is about this girl that takes a chance to kick in a goal against a
professional goalie. Will she make the goal? If so, she might win one million
dollars!

The Jacket by Andrew Clements

You should read this book because it's funny and they get in a fight! They hate
each other. They get him back by giving him that extra quarter.

The Ghost in Room 11 by Betty Ren Wright

This book is about a kid who moved from Milwaukee and a ghost named Miss
Ripple. She wants to kill him and he has no where to run!

A-Z Mysteries: The Haunted Hotel by Ron Roy

I like this book because the ghost was not really a ghost. It was a man that lived
in the hotel. He had a piece of string in his wig costume. If you like mysteries, you
will like this book. Trust me if I were you, I would want to read it!

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine

When she was born, Ella got a fairy's "gift"; it was the gift of obedience. The gift
was more like a spell; if somebody told her an order she would have to do it. Even

We recommend this book because mostly of the action. This book is about two kids
named Omri and Patrick who discover the magic of a cupboard, a key and plastic

There is plenty of action, suspense and humor.

Skeleton Man by Joseph Bruchac

This story is abot a girl named Molly and how her dad used to tell her stories
about a creature that cooked and ate his family and himself. But then a man
claimed to be Molly's uncle. She finds out that the story her dad told her somehow
relates to her life. In this book the suspense builds on every page!

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

There once was a mama's horse and she had a baby.
Thier owner was really nice to
them, he would give them treats. Also, he would ride the mama horse to town and
a boy would throw bricks at the horses. One day they were in the field and the boy
came; he didn't know that the owner was looking. He tried to jump on the horses

but the owner caught him and said to never come back. The next day, they saw some
dogs and the dogs were chasing a rabbit. The dogs caught the rabbit and it got torn
open. Then the owner came and took the dogs home.

This is a book about a girl named Ann Marie and her best friend. Her best friend
is jewish. One day during World War II, her jewish friend has to spend the night

Bony-Legs by Joanna Cole

This book is about a little girl named Shash and she liver sith her aunt. Her aunt
told her to go to the other side of the woods to get a needle and thread. So that
is what she did. When she got to the other side of the woods, she spotted a hut
on chicken legs. She went in the gate and knocked on the door. An old woman
got the door and Sasha asked for a needle and thread. "Come in, come in", said
the old woman and she put Sasha in the bathtub to cook her! Ha! Ha! Ha! Read
this book to find out what happened to Shasha!

Holes by Loius Sachar

Stanley was walking down the street and then some famous shoes fell down from
the air and he ran off with them. The police chased him down and they thought he
took the shoes so he had to go to Camp Greenlake and stay there for a long time.
He had to dig holes and if he found something he had to bring it up to the person
that was in charge. There was a kid named Zero and he would never talk until
Stanley came.

Three rich children lose their parents in a house fire and are sent to live with their
uncle who makes them do chores for no reason and plans to steal their money.

Little Wolf's Book of Badness series by Ian Whybrow

Little Wolf's parents told him he was not bad enough. They told him to go to Uncle
Big Bad's house. Then he will go to college to get his bad badge and to learn the nine
rules of badness. Then he betrays his uncle, goes to a cub scout camp and comes back
with beans which his uncle eats all of. Then the uncle bursts and dies. Then he saw
that his uncle had a hidden treasure. Read this book to find out what it is!

It's a tale from Redwall and it begins about a baby otter named Denya. His father
takes him to a river of running water to make him a true "Redwaller". Then
the clan of Sawney Rath finds out Denya is going to be the Taggerung. Will Denya
and his father escape from Sawney Rath?

The Watson's go to Birmingham: 1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis

The Watson's go to Birmingham: 1963 is a good book to read and it talks about
a family who goes to Birmingham, Alabama. One funny part is when Bryan's lips
get stuck on the car mirror and his dad thinks he his kissing himself.

Commander Toad and the Planet of the Grapes by Jane Yolen

Commander Toad lands on a grape planet , but he doesn't know he's on a grape
planet. He gets eaten by someone and his friends help him get out!

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka

I recommend this book because it is funny. The wolf blew down the number one
pig's house. After he blew down the house and saw the pig's curly tale, he ate it all up by
himself!

Heartbeat by Sharon Creech

This book is about a girl named Annie. She lives with her weird grandpa and her sweet
mother and her plain old dad. Annie loves to run with her best friend, Max. Max is
very, very moody. Annie's mom is going to have a baby! She has the baby, it is a boy
and she named him Joey. Max runs in a track meet. Will he win?

One Small Dog by Johanna Hurwitz

This book takes place in two places, in the mom's house and the dad's house. The main
character is the dog named Sammy. This dog was bought as a puppy. So Sammy
chewed up everything in sight. They threatened to give him away. Sammy's head
got stuck in a milk bottle. This book is really good. You should read it!
