Harry Houdini: Master of Magic by Robert Kraske

If you like magic, this would be a good book for you. It tells you about all of
Houdini's secrets and what his life was like. This is a good book to read!

Holes by Louis Sachar

The book that I recommend is Holes
. It is about a boy names Stanley Yelnats.
He is accused of doing something he didn't do so the judge gives him a choice of
a horrible camp called Camp Greenlake, or prison. Read this book to find where
he goes and his incredible adventure along the way!


Recommended for~ ages 9-11

A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck

If you like an adventure about a girl and her grandma, then you will like this.
Mary Alice is spending the summer with her wild grandma. do you think the
summer will turn out for better or for worse? (This book is a Newbery award book.)


Recommended for~age 9 and up

The Button Boat by Glendon and Kathryn Swarthout

This book is about a girl, a boy and their father that have never been to the city.
Their dad doesn't want his children to go to school They find some money and go
to school. Enjoy this book; it is funny!


Recommended for~ 3rd and up

The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain

The Prince and the Pauper is about Mikey and the prince switching places and then
the guards take everything that they can carry. Then the prince, dressed up like Mikey,
gives everything back. Then the guards take him to prison. Finally, the prince gets out of
prison and gets crowned instead of the real Mikey.

Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman by Dav Pilkey

When Harold and George hypnotize  there teacher, Mrs. Ribble, she turns into
the evil wedgie woman! When she sprays them with spray starch will they be
able to escape her horrible wrath? Read and find out!

Because of Win-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo

The book, Because of Win-Dixie, is a great book about a girl and a dog. There are
many adventures in this book. One time Win-Dixie was lost. Will she find him?
Read this book to find out!

Rowan and the Travelers by Emily Rodda

Rowan and his village finally get a crop that they can sell. But when everybody
in the village fall into a deep sleep, it's up to Rowan to save his village. Will
he be able to save the village and the people?

The Girl on the Red Swing restaurant will serve anything on a waffle and so will
Primrose's life. If you like humor you are in for a treat. Everyone thinks her parents
are dead, but Primrose doesn't. Can you find out the truth?

The School Story by Andrew Clement

Have you ever tried to get a book published? Well a girl in this book is. Her name
is Natalie. Natalie's friend, Zoe, wants to be her agent. And it turns out that she

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix by J.K. Rowling

Wow! Now that's cool; Harry is brave to do that... Why do you ask, what is Harry
so brave about? He fights Death Eaters! This book will keep you on your toes and
you will never want to put it down!

Some Kind of Pride by Maria Testa

If you're a baseball fan or a baseball player, then this is a great book for you.
This book is about a girl named Ruth DiMarco, a baseball player for Eastshore.

She's better then the boys; so good that a Sports Illustrated reporter comes and
interviews Ruth. Will the reporter think she is as good as everyone says?

The Hobbit by J.R. Tolkien

If you like fantasy, then you will like the Lord of the Rings series. The book is
about a hobbit that goes on an adventure and meets some strange characters
along the way.

Hank the Cow Dog (series) by Jon Erickson

This series is very funny. It includes two dogs and lots of funny other farm animals.
We recommend it for anybody!

Judy Moody Gets Famous by Megan McDonald

It's about a girl named Judy who wants to do something to her name in the
paper so she can be famous. She wants this because a girl names Jessica got in
the paper for a spelling bee. Will she get her name in the paper?

Series of Unfortunate Events (series) by Lemony Snicket

If you like extremely happy stories, do not read these books! This series is about
three unfortunate orphans named Sunny, Klaus and Violet Baudelaire. They have a
huge fortune and their uncle, Count Olaf, wants it. Will Count Olaf be able to
steal their fortune?

Stevie Diamond Mysteries (series) by Linda Bailey

If you're a fan of mysteries and if you are tired of Nancy Drew and the Boxcar
kids, then check out the Stevie Daimond series! These books are about a wacky
eleven- year-old detective and her partner, Jesse. If you like humr and/or mysteries,
then these books are right for you!
