The Journal of James Edmond Pease: A Civil War Union Soldier by Jim Murphy
James Edmond Pease goes to fight in the Civil War as a journalist. He gets hit
by a cannonball and still lives. Then he gets seperated from the Union as he is
wounded.

The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket
This book is great for a wet, rainy day. It's about three orphans who lose their
parents in a terrible fire. It can take you away to evil villians, great friends and
grown-ups with great imaginations. This book may be a little dreadful, but it is
still a great book!

The Kid Who Ran for President by Dan Gutman
There is a kid named Judson Moon. He is twelve years old. His best friends name
is Lane Brainard. His partner is June Syers. Judson Moom runs for presiden of the
United States. He talks in fornt of his school and tells the kids, "No more homework!"
It is a very very good book and you should read it sometime!

The Call of the Wild by Jack London
This book is about a kid traveling in a sled with his dog bringing him to where he
wants to go. They stop from time to titme to let the dog and him rest. I think it's a
really sad book because of what they have to do.

Wizard's Hall by Jane Yolen
Wizard's Hall is a lot like Harry Potter books! You will laugh, you will cry, and you
will need a wand to deactivate his spells! Read but do not eat; if you do you will
have stomach pains. If you like Harry Potter, you'll like Wizard's Hall!

There are a lot of adventure and a lot of problems and action in this book. You will
learn a lot about pioneers. This book is about a pioneer and her cat going on the
Oregon Trail.

The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg
This book is about four kids: Nohah, Nadia, Ethan and Julian. These four sixth
graders, or, "the Souls", as they call themselves, have wild and wacky adventures
with each other. Between outsmarting all the eighth graders, saving turtles, making
wedding cakes, and drinking tea, they have tons of fun. There is a surprise around
every corner!

This book has many little stories in one book. Children know the house is haunted,
but parents don't believe that the children are telling the truth. If you want
nightmares at night, read this book. (Just kidding around, you will not have night-
mares at night!) This is a great book to read!

The Witches by Roald Dahl
If you like to be surprised then read The Witches. You will know things that you never
knew you would. It's mysterious and a little frightening!

Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? by Dr. Seuss
If you like wikey wacky books, here it is! If you want animals here they are! The
funniest book, you will pick this book up and not put it down. Time to go around the
world through the barnyard. It'll be a fun time with Mr. Brown. With a big moo;
can you do a big moo?

Pit Dragon Saga trilogy series by Jane Yolen
This set is all about dragons, fights , trainers, and definately FIRE! The main
characters are Jakkin and his loyal dragon, Heart's Blood, and his mindsendings.
If it's dragons, dragons, dragons for you, this is the set of books you'll want to read!

Cody Unplugged by Besty Duffey
If you like adventure books and funny things, then you will love Cody Unplugged!
The tough kid at camp is not so tough. At least at camp...

The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
In The Cat in the Hat he plays games with the boy and girl. He also takes out
Thing 1 and Thing 2 who fly kites in the house. The boy catches them with a net.
They make a big mess and the cat cleans it up. If you like humor, get ready
to laugh!

Stowaway by Karen Hesse
Stowaway is a book about a boy named Nick who stows away on Captain Cook's
ship. The ship is on a mission to find land and discover new plants and animals.
They pick up two natives, but they die. If you like adventure, read this book!
